How much will I save?
The UK2Abroad Global SIM card is designed to offer the cheapest rates available. It is free to receive calls in over 90 countries and calls from abroad are from under 10p/min.
Compare this to your current network, who, even with EU Roaming Regulations charge around 25p/min to receive a call and 30p/min to make a call. Outside the EU, charges can be over £1.50 per minute.

Why do I need a new SIM card?
In order to save on the cost of using your mobile abroad, you need to be attached to our global mobile network. This is what the UK2Abroad Global SIM does: it is the central element of the service, providing you with free incoming calls and low cost outgoing calls - whether locally or internationally. Will this affect my current phone or contract?
No - our service is completely independent of your current phone, you simply use our SIM for making and receiving calls whilst abroad. When you get home, you simply go back to using your usual UK phone and SIM
You can even put your UK2Abroad Global SIM in a separate phone, thereby having two handsets - the usual UK phone will work normally - very useful if you have a Blackbery or want to send text messages. Back to FAQs
How do I unlock my phone?
You need to have an unlocked phone to use our service. Unlocking allows you to use your mobile phone on any network (for the purposes of our service, this allows you to use a local SIM card).
How do I know if my phone is locked? Put in a SIM card from another mobile network. If it registers on that network, your phone is unlocked. If it doesn’t, then you phone is locked.
How can I unlock my phone? We provide a free unlocking service for some Nokias. For handsets we can't unlock, many online services offer unlocking for a small charge, or you can take your phone to your local mobile phone shop.
Is unlocking legal? Absolutely. In fact, your mobile network is obliged to do it for you, although they do charge. We offer an unlocking service for Nokia phones - other makes of handset can be unlocked at local mobile phone stores. Please email us with any queries. Back to FAQs
What do I need to do before I leave?
- Select and purchase a UK2Abroad Global SIM and credit
- Receive your package and instructions by e-mail or post
- Check your phone is unlocked
- Swap your UK SIM card with your UK2Abroad Global SIM when you arrive at your destination
When you have bought and received your UK2Abroad package, check your account set up online (which only takes a couple of minutes).
You just need to make sure you have an unlocked phone
If you're using our follow-me "Keep Your Number" service, you'll need a contract/PAYG which supports call diverting, then when you're at the airport or about to leave the country, you enter a code into your phone which diverts all your calls to us.
When you arrive you simply put your UK2Abroad Global SIM in your phone and start saving!

Where can I call and how much will it cost?
You can anywhere, easily and at very low rates (often the same as using a calling card - straight from your mobile abroad!). Select your destination above for more details.
How much will people pay to call me?
No more than usual - your SIM comes with a UK mobile number (starting 07822...) which is an OFCOM recognised UK mobile number (however the call may not be included in free minutes, as we are not part of one of the main UK networks). People can reach you on the same number wherever you are, and only pay the usual cost of calling a UK mobile number.
Some Global SIM card companies provide their SIMs with international mobile numbers or Isle of Man/Jersey/Guernsey numbers - these are expensive for your customers, friends and family to call!
With our Follow-Me service, you can even keep your usual UK number (so callers don't even know you're abroad - simply divert your mobile to our network).
Does the SIM card/credit expire?
The SIM card and the credit expires after 12 months. We will contact you in advance to check you want to renew the SIM (£12/annum) and this extends the life of the credit by 12 months also.
Top-up online via the Customer Zone at any time (you can access this once you have made your purchase). If you will not be able to get reliable internet access during your trip, we suggest ordering some additional credit to cover all eventualities. We offer a refund policy for unused credit.
